Training in DC!

Barefoot Diva "M" flew out to DC this past weekend for some training with Divas "BB" and "S". We had a really nice 10-mile walk on Sunday despite me ("M") getting off to a rough start. I threw my back out and had to go to the Urgent Care for some muscle relaxers. Anyway, we didn't do the 16-miler we had planned to do but did a really cool walk across the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge. It was kinda funny when I saw signs welcoming us to Maryland and then back into Virginia on the way back.

We ran into some Avon 2-Day walkers when we stopped for our FROZEN lemon aid treats. We talked to them and traded buttons with them. It was pretty cool knowing that we weren't the only walkers out in the midday heat. While it was hot, it was nothing near as warm as we've been in FL. The humidity was there but there was still a cooling breeze in the air.

I'm on my way home today which makes me both happy and sad. Glad to see my hubby and pups but sad to the leave the DC Divas here. It's fun training with all of your team mates!

We are officially within the 24 week training period. Since Peter just had knee surgery we are waiting for him to heal and then start with the 16-week. That's what we did last year and had no problem with the walk. Hoping for the same luck this year!!
